The new landscape design at the Fashion Institute of Technology’s Campus created new pathways, sitting areas and planting beds where there were previously walls and fences which prevented the students and faculty from using the area. The new design allows students, faculty, local residents and business people to interact in a safe, green, friendly environment. A two tiered plaza was redesigned to invite more outdoor activity such as student flea markets, bands, and philanthropic events. The gathering spot is filled with potted trees, flowers and sitting areas for students and faculty. In-ground lights has a subtle night effect.
