Woodstock Meadows Senior Citizen Housing with 24 interlocking one-bedroom units, conceived as small cottages is the first publicly assisted senior citizen housing project in the unique arts community of Woodstock, New York. The plan was devised to allow each unit to be oriented to the south and to be directly accessible to a community lawn. One central community building with a porch, sitting areas, laundry facilities, and great room fosters community spirit and social interaction. Pathways interconnect units as well as the community center. Initially, the town was totally against Senior Citizen low income housing, however after the 24 units were built, they requested 24 more. This project won multiple local awards.
